About the course

Football injuries cause multiple losses in sports performance, but also lead to huge economic damages of football clubs (Eliakim E. Morgulev E. Lidor R. et al., 2020). To prevent such troubles, clubs have been reinforcing their facilities and especially their staff. Professionals who combine their experience with relevant scientific knowledge can help sports organizations to deal with this hard task.
Strength training is now seen as one of the main strategies in injury rehabilitation (Lauersen JB, et al., 2014). However, some questions may arise, such as: "Are all exercises the same?"; "When to start?"; "How much is too much?"; "It is safe to start rehabilitation right away?"; "Should we use only passive alternatives?"; "Is it enough to have just clinical diagnosis or should we also consider functional criteria?" or "How can we understand that an athlete is progressing effectively?". These are very important questions that any sports doctor, physiotherapist and/or strength & conditioning coach should ask themselves.
The main goal of this course is to help professionals to get answers to some of these questions. Apart from references to professional literature, you will be provided with specific recommendations of how and when to apply strength exercises in a safe way.
